Tom Beckett General Nice album. Always good to see the LIRR featured. For as busy as it is, it does not get a lot of attention. The equipment has changed a lot over the years. I remember seeing GP 38's, MP 15's and FA's on this line, back when most of the cars were either electric heat coaches, or modified MU cars that were converted for locomotive haul to replace the ancient P 54's(the infamous ping pongs). I even saw a few C 420's, though mostly on the Oyster Bay Branch. Interesting they brought back the double deckers(I guess they're bilevels now). I've been on these, they do the job, but they lack the charm of the old MP 70's I recall from my youth in the 60's. 8/28/2017 2:35:00 AM
